We recently had a fantastic family vacation in 30A, Florida! My family rented a house for the first time, here in June, and we loved it so much! We would love to make it a yearly tradition!
Our youngest daughter made a sand turtle and wrote 30A on it.
30A is a collection of small, unique, gorgeous Florida beach towns. They are nestled quietly between the much busier areas of Panama City and Destin, along Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A.
Blue Mountain Beach
Within this area, you’ll find the beach communities of Blue Mountain Beach, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, WaterSound, and several more! If you’re looking for a vacation destination that has stunning ocean views and white sand, pools, restaurants and is kid-friendly, you pretty much hit the jackpot with 30A!
How To Get There?
This airport is in Panama City, FL, just a short drive from the coast. Flight options include Delta, Southwest, United, and American Airlines. Once we arrived at the airport, you can pick up a rental car or cab. From there, it is about a 30 minute drive from the airport.
This is the beautiful home we stayed in, in 30A. I love the aesthetic of the home!!
Where To Stay?
There are several different beach communities within 30A! It’s home to Rosemary Beach, Seacrest, Alys Beach, Seagrove, Seaside, Watercolor and Grayton Beach – to name a few. The entire highway stretches 28.5 miles, so you can check out all the beaches, since they are so close! ALL of the beach communities are stunning, we stayed in Blue Mountain Beach.

How do I find a house? We use Home Exchange to find homes to rent, while on vacation. We can use our guest points, which means, we get to stay for free! Free in 30A? We tried their Grilled Red Fish Tacos and they were amazing! And I’m not a fish taco person! 5 stars!! We also tried their Goat Cheese, Spinach & Black Bean Quesadillas and they were delicious!

We also tried their Taco Salad Bowl with Tortilla bowl, crisp greens, corn salsa, cucumber, tomato, avocado, cotija cheese, RFT pico, chili lime aioli, black eye pea vinaigrette. Photo below is from the Red Fish Taco’s website. Delicious! Perfect flavors of summer!
Raw & Juicy
This is a great place to find vegetarian and vegan options with the cutest decor in Alys Beach! Their menu is filled with healthy options like açaí bowls, coffee and cold pressed juices. Open air seating with white and black umbrellas & string lights-inviting atmosphere! Right past the patio tables, you’ll find a fun playground for kids!
We tried their Sweet Kale Caesar Salad. It had kale with in-house caesar paste, roasted garlic chickpeas, shiitake mushroom bacon, shaved cashew parmesan and cranberries. It was so good!!
We also tried their Lavender Matcha with Oat Milk with one extra pump of lavender. My taste buds were happy!
What To Do?
VISIT THE BEACH: 30A is unique in that most houses come with beach chairs and umbrella rentals! All we had to do was bring a beach bag, back up our e-bikes and head down to the beach.

When To Do?
VISIT THE BEACH: 30A is unique in that most houses come with beach chairs and umbrella rentals! All we had to do was bring a beach bag, back up our e-bikes and head down to the beach.
RENT A BIKE: Some of the rental houses come with bikes, but if not, you’ll definitely want to rent one for the week! 30A is a community with bikers, where you can bike from one beach to the next. There are wide sidewalks in between each of the little towns that double as bike paths. One of our favorite activities was biking from our house to the beach!
GO SHOPPING: There are tons of shops along 30A, and you’ll definitely want to reserve a few hours to visit them. Our favorite day was the day we went into Seaside! While you’re shopping, you can pick up a frosé or a snack from one of Seaside’s many food trucks. You’ll definitely want to stop into The Seaside Style, which is known for its corded pullovers and preppy classics. We had a blast and I came home with a few Seaside tee’s!

VISIT BIG KAHUNA’S WATERPARK
We decided to head to Big Kahuna’s Water Park for the day to escape the beach and embrace the cool water! It was perfect!
Big Kahuna’s has multiple areas for all ages. Twister slides, mat slides, tube slides, wave pool, two lazy rivers, and lots of small kiddie slides, sprinkler pads, water toys, and zero entry areas. Life vests and tubes are available complimentary. Cabanas and lockers are available for rent. You cannot bring in a cooler, but there are concessions that have snacks, pizza, drinks, ice cream and beverages.
We had a great day! Big Kahuna’s is the biggest water park on the Emerald Coast and what a perfect way to cool off this summer! Check out all the fun, here!!
Visit Blue Mountain Beach Creamery
Our Pastor and his wife told us about this little ice cream place and it was literally walking or biking distance from our house! Blue Mountain Beach Creamery is run by sixth generation locals. As a small family business, they take pride in the quality of their fresh, homemade ice cream, sorbets, and frozen yogurt. Our favorite flavors were chocolate, bourbon, turtle, and blueberry cheesecake! So, so good!! We may or may not have visited them twice, while we were there!

This concludes our 30A Travel Guide. I am so happy our family visited 30A. It’s such a quaint little beach area that definitely hit the spot with our family!!

Our family recently embarked on a new adventure together: opening a vintage booth at one of our favorite local antique shops, in Lillian, AL. This is something I’ve dreamed of trying for quite some time, and I’ve got a meeting with my boss today, so I’m a bit nervous to see how they think our first month went! Wes & I already have plans to build modern wood planters, antique wood spindle candle holders & farmhouse tables.
It’s no secret that this gal has a love for all things chippy, & repurposed through antique shopping for my home. Actually, a lot of our vintage pieces throughout our home have great meaning & most have come from our Grandparents and Great-Grandparents. Now the time has come! I’ve come across many vintage treasures that have meaning to me…(we are keeping all of our family antiques) but I’m running out of room! I wanted a place to part with some of my treasures & pickin’ finds (you know, the ones with the really cool history behind them) where I could rest assured they were going to good homes. 😊 I have previously been donating to our local thrift stores.
I can’t help but see that God is in this story…Doors opened>>>with the sweetest antique owners, Joe & Wanda, we then obliged the nudge and our family decided to make this a group effort. That has been my favorite part of the whole thing: working as a team with my favorite people! It has opened up so many stories from other family members that had a dream for an antique booth too, like my Father-In-Law & Late Mother-In-Law. Our 2nd oldest child even has an antique booth of her own, with a 20’s something spin to it! My youngest two girls help me with cleaning our antique finds, labeling, tying tags and “styling” pieces in our antique booth. They also love using Ms. Wanda’s vacuum to help keep our antique booth in tip top clean shape! The hubs is a true hero here, hoisting and loading, unloading and hoisting all the goodies for me. Our oldest two (adult) daughters offer kind thoughts, prayers and congratulatory support from afar! Our oldest is coming for the 4th of July and we can not wait for her to see our booth in person!!! Que the high pitched girly scream!!
It’s already been so cool to teach our younger two girls by SHOWING them what hard work means. I mean, I know they know what hard work is, as we’ve spend the last three years, self-building our barndo, but this is on different level. They are also learning about how to earn money, being patient while they wait for their own booth contributions to sell, and the value of being part of a family team.
The Sweet Southern Grace Booth has been a whole lot of hard work up front but I truly feel God placed this little moment in our family’s story, and I am excited to continue working as a team with my favorite humans.

Pop Up Camping can be a lot fun and a great way to create memories with your family. Pop up camping is one of my favorite things to do with my family, as it allots a way to travel, with our family of six, for significantly cheaper than even renting from VRBO or a hotel. Our family invested in a 1996 Coleman Pop Up Camper for $500 from Facebook Marketplace, two years ago, this month! You can see how we renovated our pop up here.

Staying Organized
Staying organized in your PUC is key to functionality in a small space being able to enjoy yourself while on vacation! We have several trips under our belt now and sometimes it’s trial and error to see what works best for your family.
Below is picture of our four daughters in St. Augustine! Stunning beach!
Organizing Our Clothing
When we went on our first few trips in our pop up, we had six people traveling in our camper. (We have since had one daughter get married, so we now have five.) When we first began began traveling, we used two seperate sections of our bench seating for clothing storage for myself, husband and two oldest daughters. It works, as we travel only in the warmer months, not taking a lot of bulking clothing or shoes.
T-shirt’s, shorts, swimsuits and flip flops! Now that we are minus one, we use that one storage compartment to store a convection oven. Folding compactly does matter in the amount of space you have in the area you are storing clothes and that you keep that space neat, while on vacation.
For our youngest two girls, we use the cabinet by the entry, as their clothing storage. We can even slide their add their flip flops, sandals and a pair of tennis shoes in their cabinet on the bottom far left! We have good week’s worth of clothing on each child’s shelf! Now, who would have ever thought that we could cram so much clothing in our pop up camper?! Pretty awesome!
How We Organize Our Food
We keep the bulk of our food, along with paper items like plates, in our middle bench seating. I use metal and woven farmhouse baskets to help keep things confined to their spaces. I try to keep like items together like paper plates, plastic cutlery and cups.
I have a couple seperate baskets for things like cans, noodles, sauces, juice, rice, extra condiments and coffee. The other basket has dried goods like sugars, flours teas and mostly baking items.
In our “kitchen” cabinets, the first set of cabinets, we keep more food items. I have a plastic storage basket from Target and a metal farmhouse basket in the cabinet on the left. Those baskets hold spices, oils and measuring cups.
On the right hand side of the cabinets, I keep more oils, Thieves cleaner, rubbing alcohol (for cleaning), peroxide (for getting out stains on clothing), plastic storage bags, foil, dog treats and scrubber pads for washing dishes.
After we had camped a few times, we realized pretty quickly that we would need some type of overhead storage for more regularly used food items and that they would be easy to access like cereal bars, bread, coffee, apple sauce pouches and vitamins.
I bought a small coffee pot for our camper, beside it I store salt, pepper and sugar for coffee. Again, these are items that we use on a regular basis.
Target had the best plastic storage bins and all for under $3.00. I use them in our home and all througout our pop up camper!
I placed two more metal farmhouse baskets on the bottom shelf. The first one holds forks, spoons, bowls, cups and plates. It also holds our yeti’s that we drink coffee from each morning. The second metal basket holds fruits and veggies.
Organizing Our Small Appliances
Bench seating storage is amazing! We literally have almost any appliance you can think of on this side of our bench seating storage! To the far left, I keep three, 6 quart rubbermaid containters. In these containers, I keep first aide, vitamins and allergy meds. I made the labels with my Silhouette. I also have my waffle maker, blender and extra apple sauce pouches.
In the middle of the bench storage, I keep my Ninja Foodie, accessories, my recipe box and a couple mason jars.

How We Organize Pots, Pans and Cooking Utensils
In our “kitchen” cabinets, on the bottom of the cabinets, I keep a pots and pans set, along with a mixing bowl, cheese grater and a few cooking utensils. Nothing fancy here!
We even have a convection oven in one of our bench seat storage area’s and it has been so nice because it’s like a mini oven. We bake cookies, homemade breads, toast things, warm things like left overs, ect.
A Space to Organize Bath Towels, Washcloths and Kitchen Towels Along with Bath Products
When we bought our PUC, it was in very poor condition. In fact, it was almost complete gut job.
Since it was missing one of the cabinets on the right hand side of our entryway, we decided not to rebuild and grab a metal, collapsible dog kennel, since we knew our family pet(s) would be traveling with us. On top of the dog kennel, we added a piece of plywood and set a three drawer rubbermaid storage on top of it. In the top storage drawer, we keep bath towels, wash cloths, kitchen flour sack towels and Norwex cloths in the top drawer. We also have a collapsible laundry basket for dirty clothes and towels.
The middle drawer houses bath towels! In the top two drawers, we store twelve bathtowels and two dozen washcloths plus a dozen flour sack kitchen towels and several Norwex cloths.
The bottom drawer contains bath products. I even used some of the Target plastic containers to help organize the drawer space to help it be as effecient as it can be with space!
We also keep a metal farmhouse basket on top of the three drawer basket. In this basket, I keep more bath products. I also have a woven basket that I keep tissue rolls in. I like to keep a couple plants, well more than a couple, in the camper, as it helps purify the air and give a more homey feel in our camper.
To the left of the three drawer storage, I keep a medium sized woven basket on the bed that holds our hair dryer, flat iron, curling iron and a few hair scruncie’s. I even have a mini heater stored in the woven basket! Sometimes other things can get thrown into here!
When we were renovating our camper, I wanted to paint chalk paint on half of the inside of the door, so I could use it as a menu board. It is another way to help me stay organized with food and groceries, when we are traveling. I usually use a chalk pen but you can also use a regular piece of chalk too!
And that is about it folks! Staying organized is key in such a small space. I don’t think we would be able to function in here without organization! If yall have any questions, please reach out!

CHRISTMAS WRAPPING WITH OLD TIME POTTERY
I was so excited when Old Time Pottery asked me to team up with them, this holiday season! Christmas is my favorite time of year, as I love everything about the Christmas season! I am sure a lot of you have been thinking about what to buy family or friends for Christmas. What about a homemade treat? Nothing says “I love you” like a homemade treat and it speaks straight to the heart!
After spending an afternoon in your kitchen, be sure to give your sweet gift the presentation it deserves. I have gathered some of my favorite, easy to assemble, food packaging ideas for ya’ll! This was all purchased for under $100!
DECORATIVE BOXES
For mine and my husband’s siblings this year, I decided it would be fun to do one family gift for each sibling and their families. I thought it would be fun to do a box of Christmas Eve goodies for them to enjoy together. Old Time Pottery has so many different sized, decorative Christmas boxes that you can use to wrap goodies in! I decided to go with a red truck theme this year and when I saw these boxes, I knew they would be perfect for our sibling‘s family gifts this year!
MASON JAR WITH VINTAGE RED TRUCK LID
In the box, I placed homemade hot cocoa mix in a mason jar from Old Time Pottery. The lid even had a vintage red truck on it! Add a cute tag with handwritten or printed directions for the hot cocoa.
OUR FAMILY’S HOT COCOA RECIPE
My husband has been making this hot cocoa recipe since our oldest two daughter’s were babies. We have had many years to perfect this creamy, chocolatey goodness!
Hot Cocoa Recipe:
3/4 C Sugar 1
1/4 C Cocoa
4 and 1/3 C Milk
1/2 TSP Vanilla (optional)
Directions:
Mix cocoa and sugar into a saucepan. Stir in milk over medium heat until all sugar and cocoa is dissolved and cocoa is heated. Do not allow this to boil, as it will burn to the bottom of the pan. Add vanilla.
FOOD GOODIES FOR THE DECORATIVE BOX
I also added homemade hot chocolate bombs, along with homemade oreo truffles and chocolate covered spoons to stir in their hot cocoa.
The hot cocoa also needed Christmas themed mugs to drink from when drinking the hot cocoa. I wanted to add a mug for each of our nieces and nephews; depending on age, I added the Santa, snowman or polar bear mugs to the decorative boxes.
PACKAGING FOR THE DECORATIVE BOX
To fill the box, I added white crinkle cut shredded paper. It also helps to cushion the mugs and Vintage Red Car topped mason jars. I always make sure to fill the crinkle cut paper well, making sure to fill nicely around all the edges of the box.
VINTAGE RED TRUCK TINS
I also found the cutest tins with vintage red trucks on them! In these tins, I added mini cupcake holders that held the oreo truffles. The Vintage Red Truck Tins with the truffles will be for our parents, along with our aunts and uncles. You could make something simple for these like boxed brownies and cut them into small squares, then add to the tins. You could also make Christmas candy or divinity for the tins as well.
VINTAGE RED TRUCK CERAMIC LOAF PANS
I buy these little loaf pans, every year from Old Time Pottery! I love to make my cream cheese banana nut bread and give out to extended family, dance teachers, neighbors and colleagues. I wrap them in cellophane and tie with a curling ribbon! EASY PEASY and everyone loves it! I am so happy to have found these that have the red vintage truck on them!
