Antique Bottle Collection

Antique Bottle Collection

It’s that time again for our monthly Thrift Store Challenge where we are challenged to find something from a thrift shop, antique shop, estate sale, yard sale, rummage sale, Craigslist or FB Marketplace and make it our own by styling in our home. Hosted by Tara from https://stilettosandshiplap.com/  and Emily from https://lecultivateur.com/   .

Over the course of about a year, I have been collecting antique bottles of all variety! I found a couple of larger antique mason jars, antique milk bottles & antique ink or medicine bottles (I believe). I paid .10 cents each for the mason jars and the milk jars were .25 cents, at two separate estate sales. Then I found the small glass bottles at my local antique shop for $2 and $3 each. We also like to drink Boylan Bottling Co glass cane cola’s. I like to collect those bottles too!

I love styling antique glass jars and bottles in my home! The options are endless! This year for spring, I decided to incorporate my antique bottles and jars with lavender! Lavender is one of my favorite flowers to style in my home for the spring and summer months!

I have a small buffet hutch that I style differently each season, in my dining room. I chose to use my flower market sign that my husband and I made, along with eucalyptus, a couple hanging white flowers, lavender and of course those antique jars! Simple, yet I love it! I’m am beginning to fill my home with touches of spring!

It’s All About The Fall Vibes-Fall Home Tour 2019

It’s All About The Fall Vibes-Fall Home Tour 2019

Hey y’all! Come on in! Yes, it’s still in the upper 90’s here but that hasn’t stopped this gal from decorating my home for fall! After you’ve seen my fall home tour, you’re in for a treat because I am linking up with a few other bloggers this week that are also inviting you into their homes to see their fall décor!

Welcome to our home! Pull up a chair and I’ll fix you a cup of warm apple cider, but we will leave the air conditioning on. This year, I based all of my color scheme on my pumpkin patch sign! I wanted warm fall tones! My Pumpkin Patch Sign was made by my husband and I, last year and it also doubles as a Christmas sign on the back side. The frames behind the Pumpkin Patch sign are some frames I have had from over the years and I just chalk painted them! I added green eucalyptus and warm fall tones of birch sprays, both from Hobby Lobby. They were purchased when 50% off! The two chairs were purchased from Amazon, a couple years ago. I think they were $50 each. The pillows are from my sectional. The blanket was purchased from TJ Maxx, this year for $15. The pumpkins are a mix of real and faux from Trader Joe’s and Hobby Lobby. The planters I have had for 15 plus years. I spray painted them back in the spring to refresh them! I bought the mums for under $5 at Wal-Mart.

Our farmhouse style tv cabinet was designed & built by my husband and I. The wheat grass wreath above was made by me. I purchased the grapevine wreath at a local thrift store for a couple dollars. I bought all the wheat grass from Hobby Lobby and Micheal’s, all for 50% off. If you happen to live near wheat grass fields, you could ask the farmer for any scraps and you could basically make yours for free! My wreath is quite large and cost around $60 to make. Still much cheaper than you can buy in the store for the size that I needed! Warm fall toned birch sprays are from Hobby Lobby for under $10 for 4 sets.

I am loving the warm fall vibes this year! Can you tell? For my tablescape, I chose to use my dough bowl that my husband made from a salvaged log that he found on the side of the road! Again, I used warm fall toned birch leaves & pumpkins from Hobby Lobby. I also added a couple acorn sprays that I cut and made into several sprays from just one! They were $1.49 from Hobby Lobby this year. I also used my Leaf Plates from Pottery Barn, White Linen Salad Plates from the Pioneer Woman Collection & the crystal glasses were from my Mother. You can read all about my fall tablescape and links on where to purchase here.

Our farmhouse dining room table & light fixture was designed and built by my husband and I. I also made the drop cloth curtains. Super cheap to make at $16 for both curtain panels. My rug is from my fav rug company, Well Woven Rugs.

In our recently renovated kitchen (under $500), blog coming soon, I made a fall floral arrangement. I bought the crock from an estate sale for $5 and used the fall birch sprays and other greenery, plus pumpkins, that I already had on hand. All from Hobby Lobby. You can read all about how I styled the fall floral arrangement here .

I decided it would be fun to style my youngest two daughters kitchen set for fall as well! What a fun morning we had with an impromptu tea party at 7:45 am! I used all the same goodies from Hobby Lobby! Drop Cloth curtains were made by me for three sets, it was around $9.00!

I also decorated my white chalk painted piano with those fall birch leaves and pumpkins! I really do love the color vibe they give off in my home!!

I even added a few pumpkins in our master bedroom along with those acorn sprays & amber jar bottles. The amber jar bottles were purchased from Whole Foods for a few dollars. I also added a funny letter board. Lamp is from Hobby Lobby at 50% and it was $43.

I even added a few touches of fall to our half bath. Of course I added the warm fall toned birch sprays, along with a few fabric pumpkins that I made! You can see how I made my fabric pumpkins, all for under $10 here. The green market sign was purchased from Target’s Dollar section at half off for just fifty cents! The amber bottles & antique books were purchased from an estate sale and my fav local antique shop for a few dollars. The mirror and shelves were also designed and built by my husband and I. We also recently renovated our half bath and all for just under $200. You can read that post here .

I added the same pumpkins, birch sprays & acorn sprays to my smaller dough bowl. The fresh soap bathroom sign was designed and built by my husband and I.

Lastly is my outdoor tablescape. We love eating outside when the weather is cooler! We are finally expecting cooler temps here next week! It is so nice to sit outside and enjoy a meal with our family!

It’s All About The Fall Vibes: Fall Home Tour 2019

Handmade with Love

Today I am teaming up with six of my blogging pals for a blog hop! We were challenged to find something from a Thrift Store, Estate Sale, Yard Sale, Family Heirloom, ect. I had the idea to ask the hubs if he would be willing to make me a few wood cutting boards and a riser for our newly renovated kitchen! Let me tell you how it all began! Last December, we had a large tree fall on our property.

9EA4446B-1A69-4EE1-A656-77711DC16180

We took our youngest two girls to the top of the hill, where it had fallen, and counted all the rings in the tree to find out how old it was- It was 77 years old!

C407853C-1207-4368-A112-3EC91893C1A7

My husband had the idea to mill the wood, so that we could have this beautiful tree as lumber!

86ADEE30-DBD3-4045-87E7-32AE0922FC41

As soon as our blog hop came about, I knew I wanted to see if he would make those wood cutting boards and a riser for our kitchen!

5D7A0646-1AF8-49BD-B675-FCE993D00EBD

My husband was able to mill several beautiful pieces of this red oak tree. I just love an item that is sort of repurposed in its own way. From this 77 year old red oak tree, we were able to get a couple years worth of firewood and many beautiful furniture pieces to come! The picture below is my husband doing what he does best! Making something beautiful for his wife 😉

30AF16E1-9B37-4C7C-B0ED-E7EA58C8D4EC

He definitely makes my heart skip a beat to see him making something for our home. We did not spend any money to make the riser or the wood cutting boards. It was just our time.

153A794D-F5DA-42AA-8BED-12D174EFAD4A

I also used olive oil to condition the wood and added twine to the cutting boards.

Please check out all of my buddies to see their finds for this month! Never a disappointment for sure! Love, love, love working with all of these wonderfully, talented friends of mine!
